Our
Meetings in "Río
da Fraga" have been designed
with the purpose of offering our guests and groups of excursionists
the possibility to become familiar with the Galician popular
culture and our environment in a playful way but not lacking
precision.
 "A
Fraga" river goes through the
village of Moaña from north to south, from its source
at "Monte Gagán" till its mouth in "A Xunqueira"
beach. Through the years it has been essential for the economy
and subsistence of the people living around, for apart from guaranteeing
the irrigation of the land in the banks and the water needed
for the household chores, it provided the power to make work
the numerous watermills built along its course. Recently
the government has restored some of these watermills, witnesses
and also protagonists of a way of life, the life of our ancestors,
which was on the verge of falling in oblivion. Such a wealth
offers us the possibility to become familiar with the everyday
experience of those people who forged our traditions, to try
to understand them and, maybe, to understand us a bit better.
