SIX YEARS FOR A DREAM

When Taberna A´DE LINO first opened its doors at Bonfire Night in A Fraga, few could imagine that only six years later, what seemed to be a little whim in the middle of nowhere, something imagined by an impulsive mind rather than a practical one, it somehow grew to become an ambitious project of recovery and developing an area almost fallen into oblivion. Indeed, on the night of the 24th to the 25th 2002, at the top of "Monte da Fraga", with the valley of the river with the same name below, A´Fraga Rural is officially opened. This is a rural holiday complex which, alike that old "quinteiro" restaured and transformed into something more than a tavern, merges all the necessary conditions to satisfy not only nature addicts but also those interested in tradition and history.

OUR LODGINGS

Our cabins are displayed in an area of more than 2000 m2, facing south and witnesses of the route the sun takes day by day over the ria. They are beautifully surrounded by leafy chestnuts and other native trees, little spots full of charm ideal for a good book or a quiet conversation. Each one of them is 40 m2 distributed in two storeys ready to lodge 5 people at most. From its front door we can admire one of the most attractive views of the "Río da Fraga" valley and the "Ría de Vigo"; On the ground floor we will find a homely dining-room lounge with a kitchen, a bedroom with a bunk-bed and a bathroom with a hydro massage column perfect for relaxing after a long walk.The first floor is destined to an ample bedroom with a double bed. Everything to ensure a good rest and the best comfort.

Taberna A'DE LINO

Another of the great attractive things in A´Fraga Rural is Taberna A´DE LINO. There we can enjoy the best of our gastronomy and our music. It is the perfect place to gather energy with a good breakfast to start the day or to definitely lose it in one of their usual parties.

Due to a conversation with his grandfather Adelino Faria Garrido, Lino Fervenza decides to transform an old house located in A Fraga, in the village of Moaña, which was used as a stable for the animals, a place to keep all the farm equipment, a place to make wine and also the place where the people in the neighbourhood used to get together around the "cañeiro" (person who distilled spirits) and so transforming it into a tavern to serve as a reminder of our customs -those which had traditionally conformed the lives of the Galician rural people-. Customs which are no longer in use and practically doomed to oblivion. Thus Lino Fervenza starts the restoration not only of the centennial facilities but also the equipment and the small constructions all over the place: the ox cart, the farm equipment, the barn, the well, the trough, the press where the wine is made… all of them destined to be part of the decoration of the future tavern and which we can admire now. We could say it is the perfect place to revive the stories our grandparents used to tell us so many times.

Nowadays, Taberna A´DE LINO, can be considered as a reference in Peninsula do Morrazo, as an example of fusion between making business and recovering the past for it can be seen as a little "ethnic museum". Here we can enjoy a good meal while we listen to a live concert of traditional music, or we can join a group of people singing traditional songs around a bottle of wine or a "queimada" until late at night.
